Every year, Americans purchase socks which are made from virgin polyester and nylon yarns with no redeeming qualities except for the fact that they may warm your feet. Lots of money goes into promoting these brands without a single thought to how the product impacts our planet. Eventually, you put a pair in the washer and only one sock comes out, so you buy another pair, - and the cycle continues. It's almost funny, one sock, how much harm can it possibly do. But it's not just a few pair of socks ... we're talking about 5 billion pairs of socks, give or take a billion. That's enough to make you want to sock it to them.

We can't compete with the big boys, we just don't have the money to throw at advertising, besides, we'd rather spend a few extra pennies and use organic cotton, natural bamboo and soy to make our socks. That's why we need your help.

We are planning the dates for our Sock Buying Marathon and will announce it here. This will be our official "sock it to them day" and we want to sell 1 million pair of earth friendly, healthy socks. With your help, we can make it happen. You can plan to buy socks for yourself or someone else, for any occasion including everyday wear, back-to-school, a birthday or as christmas presents, or any other reason that floats your boat. Sock prices will range from $5.00/pair to $15/pair. Part of the proceeds will go to fund Sierra Club Programs that futher the organization's mission to "Explore, Enjoy and Protect" the planet.

Since we'd rather spend our money on eco-friendly yarn and green technology instead of advertising, we need your help to spread the word to your family, friends and colleagues to help us reach our goal of selling 1 Million socks during the Sierra Sock Buying Marathon. The Sierra Club Sock line has something for everyone, so it will be easy to find something you like in the collection.
